Immigration Lawyers with In-Person Assistance in Madrid
In immigration matters, being able to meet personally with the lawyer handling your case can still be particularly important.
Clients can visit our Madrid office, explain their circumstances directly, review documentation with a lawyer and know from the outset who will be dealing with their matter.
At a time when an increasing number of legal and administrative services are offered exclusively online, having a physical law office, identifiable lawyers and a permanent address where clients can be attended also provides an important degree of professional continuity.
Our Madrid office is located at Calle Ávila, 6, 28020 Madrid, in the Estrecho area.
Almost Thirty Years Working in Immigration Law
EBAN Abogados has been providing legal assistance in immigration matters for almost three decades.
During that time we have worked through successive immigration regulations, regularisation processes, appointment systems, administrative criteria and substantial changes in the way immigration applications are processed.
This continuity provides experience not only of the applicable legislation, but also of its practical implementation: documents that commonly create difficulties, administrative criteria, methods of correcting deficiencies and issues capable of delaying or jeopardising an application.
Long-standing professional activity before the relevant administrative authorities also facilitates normal professional communication when an issue arises. In some cases, a documentary matter can be clarified during the processing of an application, avoiding an unnecessary formal request and the delay associated with it.
This is not about obtaining preferential treatment. It is about understanding the procedure, the administrative environment and how practical issues can be resolved.
Immigration Practice in Madrid
Spanish immigration law is primarily national legislation. Its day-to-day application, however, also has a practical administrative dimension.
Madrid handles a particularly high volume of foreign residents and immigration, residence, employment and nationality procedures. At different times, this workload can affect processing times, appointment availability and the handling of administrative issues.
Documentary practices and administrative interpretations may also evolve. In certain matters, the practical approach followed in Madrid may differ from that encountered in other provinces.
Knowledge of this environment helps us anticipate potential problems, prepare applications appropriately and respond quickly when an issue arises.
More Than Immigration Paperwork
The legal position of a foreign national in Spain is rarely limited to a residence permit.
Other legal issues frequently arise at the same time: employment difficulties, unpaid wages, Social Security matters, criminal records, court proceedings, disputes with landlords, family issues or contractual problems.
EBAN Abogados is a multidisciplinary law firm. Our clients do not need to look for a different professional every time a matter ceases to be strictly related to immigration law.
Our role is to consider the client’s legal position as a whole.
Criminal Records, Removal Proceedings and Complex Immigration Matters
Criminal or police records, ongoing criminal proceedings and administrative sanctions may directly affect a residence application or a future application for Spanish nationality.
We can analyse both the immigration issue and the underlying criminal matter, including, where appropriate, cancellation of criminal records, representation in criminal proceedings and assessment of their potential administrative consequences.
We also advise and represent clients in removal and expulsion proceedings, administrative and judicial appeals, and procedural matters such as limitation periods, expiry of proceedings and other defects capable of affecting the validity or continuation of an administrative case.
Employment, Contracts and Social Security
Employment is one of the areas most frequently connected with immigration status.
Employment contracts, registration and deregistration with Social Security, unpaid wages, dismissal, changes of employer or interruptions in employment may have consequences extending beyond the employment dispute itself.
As a multidisciplinary law firm, we can consider both the employment issue and its potential consequences for the client’s immigration status.
Housing and Other Everyday Legal Matters
Our immigration clients also frequently need assistance with legal problems that do not originate directly from immigration law.
Residential or room rental agreements, disputes with landlords, contracts, claims and family matters are part of the everyday reality of many people establishing or consolidating their lives in Spain.
Maintaining an ongoing relationship with a multidisciplinary law firm means that these issues can be considered without the client having to start again with a different professional each time a new legal problem arises.
A Lawyer You Can Ask When a Problem Arises
The relationship with EBAN Abogados does not necessarily end when an immigration application has been filed.
Many clients continue to visit or contact the firm when they later receive an administrative communication, need a document reviewed, have a question concerning their employment or want to know whether a particular action could affect their residence status.
Not every legal question needs to become a new engagement or a formal proceeding. Sometimes a short consultation is sufficient to clarify a document or resolve a doubt before a minor issue becomes a larger problem.
The client knows where their law firm is, who handles their matters and where they can go when they need a legal answer.
Spanish Nationality in Madrid
We also provide legal assistance in Spanish nationality matters, from the initial assessment of eligibility to preparation and filing of the application, monitoring of the proceedings and representation in relation to refusals or other issues.
Immigration experience is particularly relevant in nationality matters because the applicant’s residence history, criminal record and previous administrative circumstances may have a direct impact on the nationality application.
We also coordinate the steps following a favourable decision and, where legally available, the nationality oath or declaration before a Spanish notary.

Three Offices, One Law Firm
Our offices in Madrid, Fuenlabrada and Illescas do not operate as franchises or independent legal practices.
They form part of one professional team and work on the same client matters and files.
It is common, for example, for a client to live in Fuenlabrada and work in Madrid. The client may begin a consultation at one office and subsequently deliver documentation at another when that is more convenient.
The office may change. The law firm and the client file remain the same.
Clients may also be attended at our Fuenlabrada and Illescas offices.

Free Initial Consultations and Clear Legal Fees
Initial consultations are free of charge.
Before undertaking professional work, we explain what we consider needs to be done and the corresponding legal fees.
As a general working practice, we do not require an advance provision simply in order to begin assessing the matter. Where an application or other procedure is being prepared for filing, payment may be made once the work has been prepared and before submission.
The objective is straightforward: the client should know what work will be carried out and what it will cost before incurring the expense.
